“Library Haul” is my weekly post where I share all the things I brought home from the library this week! One of my favorite things about being a librarian is bringing home stacks of exciting new reads: books I snagged as soon as they hit the “New arrivals” shelf, hidden gems I stumbled upon in the stacks, or digital books I found on Libby. Even though I don’t always get through all the reads I bring home, I’m excited to share them!
Since my libraries are still closed, I’ll only be sharing digital check-outs!
- The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu, audiobook narrated by Lauren Ezzo: I love Marie Lu and was have so far really been enjoying this one. It’s so interesting how different it is from her other books!
- Anna K by Jenny Lee, audiobook narrated by Jenna Ushkowitz: I’ll admit it: I’ve never actually read Anna Karenina but I’ve heard such good things about this contemporary retelling that I’m going to give it a try anyway.
- All Your Twisted Secrets by Diana Urban, audiobook narrated by Kate Rudd: YA thrillers are always a big hit at my library, so I’m always keeping my eye out for new ones!
- Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff, audiobook narrated by multiple narrator: This series has gotten so much hype, and I’ve heard that the audiobook is amazing. I’m excited to finally try it out!
All of my audiobooks this week were checked out via Libby by Overdrive. If you haven’t used Libby before, I highly recommend seeing if your local library offers this ebook & audiobook service!
Did you check out anything from your local library this week?
The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu sounds like such a unique and interesting read. I feel like it’s really set apart from what else we are seeing in YA right now. I’m super excited to read it. I hope it’s atmospheric!

It was definitely atmospheric! And I agree, very different from many other YA books. It reminded me a bit of Pan’s Labyrinth.
