TBR Highs & Lows is a meme hosted by Destiny at Howling Libraries(one of my favorite book blogs!), where bloggers feature the books at the bottom of their TBRs (the “lows”) and highlight new additions to the list (the “highs”). Visit Howling Libraries for more info if you’re interested in participating!
Here’s some of the books at the bottom of my TBR (but that I still want to read!):
I Was Born for This by Alice Oseman
I’ve heard great things about Alice Oseman and really want to try one of her books soon!
The Last to Let Go by Amber Smith
This YA contemporary is about a teen girl dealing with the aftermath of her mother killing her abusive father.
Indigo Donut by Patrice Lawrence
I stumbled on this YA contemporary love story on Goodreads this week. I’ve never heard of it before but the cover got me interested!
It Only Happens in the Movies by Holly Bourne
I’ve never read anything by Holly Bourne, but this YA romance sounds super cute and has really good reviews!
Up to This Pointe by Jennifer Longo
I’ve seen this cover around my library but didn’t know too much about it. When my friend Hallie @ Book Loaner featured it on her Top Ten Tuesday post this week, I immediately added it to my TBR!
Here’s what I’ve added to my TBR recently:
Past Perfect Life by Elizabeth Eulberg
Release date: July 9, 2019
A YA novel about a girl discovering that she’s not who she thought she was. I’m so curious about this one and love the premise!
Butterfly Yellow by Thanhha Lai
Release date: September 3, 2019
A historic YA novel about a Vietnamese refugee, from the author of Inside Out & Back Again.
Maybe He Just Likes You by Barbara Dee
Release date: October 1, 2019
A middle grade novel about a girl dealing with sexual harassment (and the problematic, toxic way people respond), finally! This is something that so many middle schoolers (especially girls) experience, and we absolutely need this rep in MG.
Not the Girl You Marry by Andie J. Christopher
Release date: November 12, 2019
I only need to hear two words to make me add a romance to my TBR: fake dating.
We Used to Be Friends by Amy Spalding
Release date: January 7, 2020
This YA novel about a friend breakup isn’t out till next year but after seeing the cover reveal earlier this week, I had to mention it! Plus it’s by Amy Spalding, who I love.
Are any of these books on your TBR?
I have also heard great things about Alice Oseman and want to try one of her books!!
