“Library Haul” is my weekly post where I share all the things I brought home from the library this week! One of my favorite things about being a librarian is bringing home stacks of exciting new reads: books I snagged as soon as they hit the “New arrivals” shelf, hidden gems I stumbled upon in the stacks, digital books I found on Libby, advanced readers copies that arrived in the mail, and more. Even though I don’t always get through all the reads I bring home, I’m excited to share them!
I didn’t check out any physical items from my library this week, but I got lots of digital items & ARCs that I’m excited to share!
If You Ask Me by Betty White, audiobook narrated by the author: My partner & I both love The Golden Girls, and we’ve been looking for audiobooks to listen to in the car together. This one is read by Betty herself and is only a couple hours, so we’re hoping to give it a try soon!
Amal Unbound by Aisha Saeed, narrated by Priya Ayyar: This middle grade novel has been on my TBR forever, and I immediately checked it out when I saw the audiobook was available! I’m not sure if I’ll actually get to it by the time it’s due, but I hope so!
The Greatest Love Story Ever Told by Nick Offerman & Megan Mullally, audiobook narrated by the authors: This is what my partner & I have been listening to this week, since we both love Nick Offerman (who comes from a family of librarians!) & Megan Mullally. It’s super interesting hearing their love story and the audiobook feels very fun & conversational.
Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren, narrated by Todd Haberkorn & Jayme Mattler: I absolutely loved Autoboyography and have been really wanting to try a Christina Lauren adult novel! I’ve been on the holds list for this one for a long time, and was so excited to see that it was ready for me.
This is Kind of an Epic Love Story by Kheryn Callender: This is actually my second time checking this audiobook out! Hopefully this time, I’ll actually have a chance to listen to it.
All of my audiobooks this week were checked out from Libby by OverDrive.
The Lost Girl by Anne Ursu: This one’s been on my TBR for a while! It’s about twins learning to be their own person, but also has some fantastical elements. Out on February 12!
Eventown by Corey Ann Haydu: This middle grade novel about two girls moving to a town where everything might be a little too perfect sounds so interesting and mysterious! I’m not sure I’ll get around to reading it, but couldn’t resist taking it home. Out on February 12!
Brief Chronicle of Another Stupid Heartbreak by Adi Alsaid: A YA contemporary about love, heartbreak, and writing! Out on April 30.

It’s funny that you just got Amal Unbound because I put that one on hold from another branch in the system last week and am waiting for it to show up. 😂😂 Hopefully we’ll both love it!
