Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, where book bloggers are invited to share their top ten lists centered on a certain theme.

This week’s theme is “most anticipated reads for the second half of 2023” and honestly it was hard to only pick 10! There are so many exciting books releasing this year and I cannot wait!

My Top ten

1. Forgive Me Not by Jennifer Baker: This book touches on the justice system, forgiveness, and grief. There aren’t a lot of books about incarcerated teens, so I am glad to see this one hitting the shelves soon. Out August 15th.

2. I Feed Her to the Beast and the Beast is Me by Jamison Shea: First off, the title is amazing and so is the cover! This book sounds so spooky and atmospheric. Out August 29th.

3. Monstrous by Jessica Lewis: I loved Jessica’s previous book, Bad Witch Burning, and have been waiting for more from her! Out September 12th.

4. What Stalks Among Us by Sarah Hollowell: This YA thriller involves a spooky cornmaze, which sounds like the perfect Fall read. Plus, the cover style is so unique! Out September 12th.

5. All the Fighting Parts by Hannah V. Sawyerr: I’m a sucker for novels in verse, and this one is pitched as being perfect for fans of The Poet X, which I adore. Out September 19th.

6. Up in Flames by Hailey Alcaraz: As a California resident, I’m always interested in books that involve wildfires, since that’s something that deeply affects us here! I think this one will resonate with a lot of teens. Out October 3rd.

7. The Blackwoods by Brandy Colbert: I’m a huge fan of Brandy Colbert (my favorite of hers is Little & Lion) and she is definitely an auto-read author for me. I think the old Hollywood theme will make this a big hit for fans of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo or Now That I’ve Found You. Out October 3rd.

8. Salt the Water by Candice Iloh: Candice’s debut, Every Body Looking, was so moving and I can’t wait to read another novel in verse from her! This one is a coming-of-age novel starring a nonbinary Black teen, and JUST LOOK AT THAT COVER. Out October 3rd.

9. Being Ace edited by Madeline Dyer: This anthology sounds awesome, and I’m so excited for a book full of ace rep! Out October 10th.

10. When We Became Ours edited by Shannon Gibney & Nicole Chung: This collection of stories by adoptees sounds amazing, especially since it includes several authors that I’ve really enjoyed, like Shannon Gibney, Eric Smith, and Meredith Ireland. Out October 24th.

What are some of your most anticipated releases?
