TBR Highs & Lows is a meme hosted by Destiny at Howling Libraries (one of my favorite book blogs!), where bloggers feature the books at the bottom of their TBRs (the “lows”) and highlight new additions to the list (the “highs”). Visit Howling Libraries for more info if you’re interested in participating!
Here’s some already-released books on my TBR (but that I still want to read!). I’ve been trying to find books that my middle school book club will like recently, so these are all backlist MG titles!
Dragons in a Bag by Zetta Elliot
My middle school book club is obsessed with dragons, and I’m hoping to convince them to read this one!
Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi
I’ve heard amazing things about this author’s YA books, and anything from Rick Riordan presents is always a huge hit at my library!
A Dash of Trouble by Anna Meriano
Magic + food? Heck yes!
Dragon Pearl by Yoon Ha Lee
I’m always here for kidlit featuring girls of color kicking butt, and I love that this one is science fiction with some magic mixed in.
All the Colors of Magic by Valija Zinck
I haven’t been able to find too many reviews of this one, but I love the cover!
Here’s upcoming books I’ve added to my TBR recently:
Don’t Ask Me Where I’m From by Jennifer De Leon

A YA contemporary about a Latinx teen pushing back against racism at her mostly-white school. Look at that stunning cover!

All Our Worst Ideas by Vicky Skinner

I always love books from Swoon Reads, and this contemporary about two teens falling for each other at a record store sounds super cute!
What’s the most recent book you added to your TBR?
I really want to read Aru Shah and the End of Time, too. I hadn’t heard of some of the upcoming books on your list, but definitely will check those out. I love the bright covers.

I didn’t completely love Aru Shah but I would say to give it a try if you’re interested. It has some fun humorous moments with a pigeon lol
