“It’s Monday! What are you reading?” is a weekly meme hosted by Book Date. The folks at Teacher Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers have given #IMWAYR a new lens by focusing on books for kids & teens. Check out their blogs to see what they’re reading!
Happy 2020! I took a break from blogging for the first few weeks of the year to get settled into 2020. I’ve already read so many great books this year and am excited to get back to sharing my reading!
WHAT I READ LAST WEEK:
- In Waves by A.J. Dungo
- The Night Country by Melissa Albert
- Jane Anonymous by Laurie Faria Stolarz
I’d had In Waves checked out from the library for the longest time and was so happy to finally read it! It was gorgeous and such a touching story. I’m definitely planning on reading more graphic memoirs/nonfiction this year!
WHAT I’M READING THIS WEEK:
- Tweet Cute by Emma Lord: this is my current read and it’s too cute! A perfect YA rom-com for foodies and fans of You’ve Got Mail.
- Not So Pure and Simple by Lamar Giles: my current audiobook! I appreciate that this book explores toxic masculinity, faith, and sex education.
- Don’t Read the Comments by Eric Smith: I’m hoping to start this one today and can’t wait for the girl gamer vibes!
What are you reading this week?
Those all sound great! I keep seeing Tweet Cute around but haven’t gotten a copy yet. I can’t wait to read Don’t Read the Comments! It looks really good, too. I’m currently reading Beyond the Shadowed Earth by Joanna Ruth Meyer, but the print of the ARC seems really small, so it’s taking me forever to read it.

Each one is a new title, especially interested in that sequel to The Hazel Wood. Thanks, Ari. Happy New Year!

I also want to read Don’t Read The Comments! Internet culture is fascinating to me because I basically live on the Internet. I hope you have a great week!

Glad to see so many YA novels here – I have to catch up on that genre, as I haven’t read any YA novels for quite awhile now. 🙂
