Library Haul | December 27, 2019

“Library Haul” is my weekly post where I share all the things I brought home from the library this week! One of my favorite things about being a librarian is bringing home stacks of exciting new reads: books I snagged as soon as they hit the “New arrivals” shelf, hidden gems I stumbled upon in the stacks, digital books I found on Libby, advanced readers copies that arrived in the mail, and more. Even though I don’t always get through all the reads I bring home, I’m excited to share them!

Check Outs

The First Rule of Punk by Celia C. Pérez: I’m reading this for the middle school book club I run at one of my libraries, and I’m so excited because I’ve wanted to read it for so long!

Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, & Lauren Myracle: Obviously, I checked this out for maximum Christmas vibes! I was so busy this week that I never ended up reading it, unfortunately.

An Age of License: A Travelogue by Lucy Knisley: I checked this out on a whim after spotting it on a cart of recently returned books waiting to be shelved. I’ve heard amazing things about Lucy Knisley!

Digital

Twice in a Blue Moon by Christina Lauren: I’ve made it no secret that I’m obsessed with Christina Lauren! I’ve been on hold for this audiobook ever since it was first released and I was ecstatic to finally see that it was ready for me.

The How and the Why by Cynthia Hand: This is one I originally received as an ARC, but never had time to read! I’m excited to finally give it a try via audiobook.

Both of my audiobooks this week were checked out via the Libby app.

Advanced readers copies

Loveboat, Taipei by Abigail Hing Wen: This contemporary YA book is being comp’d to Crazy Rich Asians and has such a uniquely styled cover! Out on January 7; thanks HarperTeen!

The Map from Here to There by Emery Lord: This is technically a sequel, but I’ve heard that it is readable as a stand-alone, so I’m going to give it a shot despite the fact that I haven’t yet read this first one! Out on January 7; thanks Bloomsbury YA!

Did you check out anything from your local library this week?
