TBR Lows & Highs | August 1, 2019

TBR Highs & Lows is a meme hosted by Destiny at Howling Libraries (one of my favorite book blogs!), where bloggers feature the books at the bottom of their TBRs (the “lows”) and highlight new additions to the list (the “highs”). Visit Howling Libraries for more info if you’re interested in participating!

Yikes, I’ve been super busy and haven’t posted in a loooong time! I’ve missed sharing my bookish thoughts and am trying to make time in my schedule again for regular blogging. What better way to get back into the swing of it than with TBR Highs & Lows, one of my favorite blog memes?!

Here’s some of the books at the bottom of my TBR (but that I still want to read!):

This Lie Will Kill You by Chelsea Pitcher
A coworker just recommended this YA thriller to me, and I’m hoping to listen to the audiobook eventually!

The Secret of a Heart Note by Stacey Lee
I haven’t read anything by Stacey Lee but I have heard amazing things! I love that this book is about a teen who is an aroma expert, which sounds so unique.

If I Fix You by Abigail Johnson
Sad books are the best books! If a book sounds like it’ll make me cry, I’m definitely gonna add it to my TBR.

A Fire Story by Brian Fies
I love graphic novel/comic memoirs and have been meaning to read this one ever since it was released earlier this year!

Eat the Sky, Drink the Ocean edited by Kirsty Murray
Feminist sci-fi anthology? HECK YES.

Here’s what I’ve added to my TBR recently:

Reputation by Sara Shepard
Release date: December 3, 2019
I’ve never read any of Sara Shepard’s books, but this one sounds like such a How to Get Away With Murder vibe, and I’m so here for that!

Red Hood by Elana K. Arnold
Release date: February 5, 2020
I loved Damsel so much more than I expected, and I can’t wait for another twisted, dark fairytale retelling from Elana K. Arnold!

Of Curses and Kisses by Sandhya Menon
Release date: February 18, 2020
I’m screaming over the cover for Sandhya’s next book! (I’m also screaming over the fact that I am now on her Street Team because it’s LITERALLY A DREAM COME TRUE)

We Are Totally Normal by Rahul Kanakia
Release date: March 31, 2020
It’s queer, it has an illustrated cover, and it’s all about anxiety and identity. So basically, everything I love in a YA book.

Loveless by Alice Oseman
Release date: April 2, 2020
I’ve heard great things about Alice Oseman’s writing, and I love this cover!

What’s the most recent book you added to your TBR?
