TBR Highs & Lows is a meme hosted by Destiny at Howling Libraries (one of my favorite book blogs!), where bloggers feature the books at the bottom of their TBRs (the “lows”) and highlight new additions to the list (the “highs”). Visit Howling Libraries for more info if you’re interested in participating!
I’ve been super busy lately so I haven’t posted a TBR Highs & Lows post in a while. So excited to be back sharing some titles I’m excited for!
Here’s some of the books at the bottom of my TBR (but that I still want to read!):
Playlist for the Dead by Michelle Flakoff
A teen came into my library looking for this book, and I’d never heard of it. It’s about a teen trying to understand why his friend took his life. It has some mixed reviews, so please let me know if you’ve read this one!
Braced by Alyson Gerber
A middle grade contemporary about a girl trying to fit in while adjusting to wearing a back brace.
Angel de la Luna and the 5th Glorious Mystery by M. Evelina Galang
I’m always looking for YA books with Filipino rep, and I was so excited when a library patron suggested that I purchase this book for the library, since I hadn’t heard of it before.
Catching a Storyfish by Janice N. Harrington
A middle grade book in verse about a girl adjusting to changes in her life and family? this sounds so moving and wonderful.
How She Likes It by Carla de Guzman
This romance by a Filipino author has a strong female character who is a powerful career woman and I’m so hear for that!
Here’s what I’ve added to my TBR recently:
Are You Listening? by Tillie Walden

I’ve had numerous people recommend Tillie Walden’s graphic novels, but I haven’t had a chance to start any of them yet!
Take the Mic: Fictional Stories of Everyday Resistance by multiple authors

An anthology all about resistance? HECK YES.
The Good Luck Girls by Charlotte Nicole Davis

This YA historical novel is being called ‘Westworld meets The Handmaid’s Tale‘ which sounds incredible!
Harley in the Sky by Akemi Dawn Bowman
Release date: March 10, 2020
This book’s actually been on my TBR ever since Akemi first announced it, but I’m so excited to finally talk about it here now after the cover was revealed earlier this week by Paste Magazine! Akemi is one of my favorite authors and I’m so honored to be a part of her Street Team for this book.
Little Universes by Heather Demetrios

Two sisters grieve after their parents die in a tsunami; this sounds so heartbreaking and powerful. Check out the cover reveal post on Hypable!
