“Library Haul” is my weekly post where I share all the things I brought home from the library this week! One of my favorite things about being a librarian is bringing home stacks of exciting new reads: books I snagged as soon as they hit the “New arrivals” shelf, hidden gems I stumbled upon in the stacks, digital books I found on Libby, advanced readers copies that arrived in the mail, and more. Even though I don’t always get through all the reads I bring home, I’m excited to share them!
All Summer Long by Hope Larson: I love Goldie Vance and was excited to spot another comic from Hope Larson on my library’s shelves!
Surfside Girls, Volume 1 by Kim Dwinell: Another cute graphic novel I spotted at the library this week! I love that it’s about girls who surf.
A Year Without Mom by Dasha Tolstikova: I’d never heard of this one before, but I was intrigued by the structure of a picture book for older kids and teens, so I wanted to give this one a try!
Her Royal Highness by Rachel Hawkins, audiobook narrated by Karissa Vacker: After recently listening to Prince Charming, I was eager to start this one! I’m already half way through and loving this f/f YA romance.
Hope and Other Punch Lines by Julie Buxbaum, audiobook narrated by Jorjeana Marie, Robbie Daymond, & Julie Buxbaum: A YA contemporary about a girl trying to escape a shadow of fame made by a viral photo of herself as a baby taken on 9/11. This book sounds so interesting!
You Must Not Miss by Katrina Leno, audiobook narrated by Cassandra Morris: I’ve heard this book is weird and dark, which is my favorite combination, so when I saw the audiobook was available, I immediately checked it out!
Kings, Queens, and In-Betweens by Tanya Boteju, audiobook narrated by Soneela Nankani: I’m so here for this YA contemporary about a queer brown girl discovering drag culture!
All of my audiobooks this week are from the Libby app.
Did you check out anything from your local library this week?
Love seeing these library hauls! Thanks for sharing 🙂 I just followed your blog and am loving it.

I recently got Descendant of the Crane by Joan He from Libby, and the book Jazmin’s Notebook from the Library. Also signed up for a card in another county, so that’s exciting! c:

YASSSS I love getting new library cards, the more the better!! Ooooh let me know what you think of Descendant of the Crane! I’ve heard good things but I usually have a hard time getting into fantasy.

I really enjoyed Descendant of the Crane, even though it was a bit slow in the mid-section. It’s not super hardcore fantasy.

Oooh, great check-outs! I just checked out a ton of graphic novels this week, plus our copy of Where the Crawdads Sing. I felt like I lucked up on that one, because it seems like nearly every copy in our statewide system has holds on it right now, but our branch is in a temporary location and doesn’t fulfill holds, so we get to keep them alllll for ourselves and our patrons. 😈 haha!
I’d love to hear what you think of All Summer Long and You Must Not Miss, as I read both of those pretty recently!
