“It’s Monday! What are you reading?” is a weekly meme hosted by Book Date. The folks at Teacher Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers have given #IMWAYR a new lens by focusing on books for kids & teens. Check out their blogs to see what they’re reading!
WHAT I READ LAST WEEK
- Girls with Sharp Sticks by Suzanne Young, audiobook narrated by Caitlin Davies
- Silver Meadows Summer by Emma Otheguy
- Prince Charming by Rachel Hawkins
Last week was super busy for me, so I didn’t get as much reading done as I had hoped! But I did enjoy the books I managed to finish, and I’m really enjoying my current read, With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo.
WHAT I’M READING THIS WEEK:
Somewhere Only We Know by Maurene Goo
Last year I read The Way You Make Me Feel, which was my first book from Maurene Goo, and I’ve been hooked ever since! Maurene is incredible at building loveable, real characters and writing rom-coms that make you swoon!
Somewhere Only We Know has been on my TBR for so long, and I’m ecstatic to finally read it! This YA contemporary romance about a K-pop star sounds so cute and I can’t wait to dive in.
Thanks Fierce Reads for the review copy! Somewhere Only We Know is out on May 7.
The Bride Test by Helen Hoang
I think The Kiss Quotient was the first adult romance book I’ve read, and I enjoyed it so much more than I expected! Since reading it, I’ve experimented more in the genre and realized that I actually enjoy romance. I owe a huge thank you to my awesome friend Hallie @ Book Loaner for inspiring me to try out the romance genre and giving me great recommendations!
Now I’m eager to read The Bride Test and continue to discover more amazing diverse romances!
Thanks Berkley Romance for the review copy. The Bride Test is out on May 7.

I’m looking forward to The Bride Test!
The Bride Test looks good! 🙂 Have a great reading week.
I almost picked up Silver Meadow Summer today at the library, but have so many others to read. It’s on my list. I noted your romances. Now you’ve intrigued me, Ari. Thanks!
I’m already hearing a great buzz about With the Fire on High, so I hope you love it. I always really liked The Kiss Quotient and am considering getting The Bride Test this summer. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
