Library Haul | April 6, 2019

“Library Haul” is my weekly post where I share all the things I brought home from the library this week! One of my favorite things about being a librarian is bringing home stacks of exciting new reads: books I snagged as soon as they hit the “New arrivals” shelf, hidden gems I stumbled upon in the stacks, digital books I found on Libby, advanced readers copies that arrived in the mail, and more. Even though I don’t always get through all the reads I bring home, I’m excited to share them!

No physical library books for me this week, but all of my digital check-outs and ARCs are super exciting this week!

Digital

The Wicked King by Holly Black, audiobook narrated by Caitlin Kelly: I just finished The Cruel Prince a couple weeks ago, and was so excited when this hold was ready for me! I’ve already started it and am hoping to finish it within the next few days.

The Last Voyage of Poe Blythe by Ally Condie, audiobook narrated by Sophie Amoss: I haven’t read anything from Ally Condie before, but the fact that this one’s all about vengeance made me immediately put it on my TBR!

The Matchmaker’s List by Sonya Lalli, audiobook narrated by Soneela Nankani: I’ve been trying to read more adult fiction this year, and I’ve really been enjoying listening to romance novels!

Squad by Mariah MacCarthy, narrated by the author: This YA contemporary audiobook is super short, so I’m hoping I can squeeze it in before it’s due in about a week.

All of my audiobooks this week were checked out via Libby by OverDrive. If you’ve never used Libby, I highly recommend seeing if you have access through your local library!

Advanced readers copies

With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo: I’m SOOOOO excited that I got my hands on one of my most anticipated reads of the year. Out on May 7! Thank you Harper Teen.

Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck and Fortune by Roselle Lim: Another POC-centered romance I can’t wait to dive into! I love that this one is set in San Francisco and is all about food. Out on June 11! Thank you Berkley Books.

Did you bring home anything from your local library this week?
