Library Haul | March 23, 2019

“Library Haul” is my weekly post where I share all the things I brought home from the library this week! One of my favorite things about being a librarian is bringing home stacks of exciting new reads: books I snagged as soon as they hit the “New arrivals” shelf, hidden gems I stumbled upon in the stacks, digital books I found on Libby, advanced readers copies that arrived in the mail, and more. Even though I don’t always get through all the reads I bring home, I’m excited to share them!

I didn’t take home too many books this week, which is good, because I have a huge stack I need to get through! But I’m really excited about all of my books this week.

You Asked For Perfect by Laura Silverman: I loved Laura’s debut, Girl Out of Water, and have been so excited for this YA contemporary with own-voices Jewish rep! I was so happy to see our library copy finally ready.

Meet Me in Outer Space by Melinda Grace: This Swoon Reads title with own-voices disability rep has been on my TBR for so long and I was so glad to see the eBook available via Libby! I’m not sure if I’ll have time to read it before it’s due, but it looks so good.

Advanced readers copies

Descendant of the Crane by Joan He: Just received this YA Asian-inspired fantasy in a Twitter giveaway! I don’t often read fantasy but I’m hoping to give this one a try because I’ve heard such amazing things about it. Out on April 9!

How to Make Friends With the Dark by Kathleen Glasgow: This YA contemporary about a girl grieving for her mom sounds heartbreaking, but I tend to like heartbreaking books. Out on April 9!

Did you check out anything from your local library this week?

  1. Yay, congrats on winning the giveaway! I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about book, so I should really get started on the ARC. And I checked out Priory of the Orange Tree this week! I hoping the fact that I have to return it in 3 weeks will motivate me to read it quickly. 😀
