Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, where book bloggers are invited to share their top ten lists centered on a certain theme.

There are so many incredible book covers this year, so I really wanted to use this week to showcase some of them! These are my favorite book covers of 2023.

My Top ten

1. She is a Haunting by Trang Thanh Tran: I’m a sucker for the “spooky girls with flowers around/on face” trend we’re seeing on YA horror novels lately! Plus this one has stunning details from glint in her eyes to the single tear trickling down her face.

2. Ander & Santi Were Here by Jonny Garza Villa: The art style on this one is gorgeous, and the whole vibe just feels so tender and emotional. So beautiful!

3. I’m Not Supposed to Be in the Dark by Riss M. Neilson: The delicate flowers? The soft purple tones? That defiant look in her eyes? *chef’s kiss*

4. Forever is Now by Mariama J. Lockington: Can y’all tell I love a floral cover? This one is absolutely stunning, and the book is amazing too!

5. Fatima Tate Takes the Cake by Khadijah Vanbrakle: I adore the soft pastel shades and the baking details on this one. Plus I love the dimension and shading that gives the whole illustration so much depth!

6. The Queer Girl is Going to Be Okay by Dale Walls: Illustrated covers are the best, and I love the bright colors! This one also has a unique angle, which is fun to see.

7. The Fall of Whit Rivera by Crystal Maldonado: I love book covers that evoke a specific season and this one really delivers on the Fall atmosphere!

8. Pritty by Keith F. Miller Jr: Are you sick of hearing me gush about florals? I also love the details of the character’s tattoos and the trees in the background!

9. When a Brown Girl Flees by Aamna Qureshi: The line art style is really beautiful in a minimalistic style! I love the subtle hints about the plot, like the book, mixing bowl, and the Golden Gate Bridge.

10. What a Desi Girl Wants by Sabina Khan: Such a pretty color palette, and I really like the simplistic art style that has just the right amount of detailing!

What are some of your favorite book covers this year?
