Yikes, I’ve been super busy and haven’t posted in a loooong time! I’ve missed sharing my bookish thoughts and am trying to make time in my schedule again for regular blogging. What better way to get back into the swing of it than with TBR Highs & Lows, one of my favorite blog memes?!

I love stories about meeting family you’ve never known!

Operatic by Kyo Maclear & Byron Eggenschwiler
A graphic novel about a girl discovering music and connecting with another musician. This looks super cute!

Parkland Speaks edited by Sarah Lerner
A compilation of works from survivors of the Parkland shooting. I know this’ll be a tough read, but as someone who works with teens, I feel that it’s a must-read for me.

Hex Vet #1 by Sam Davies
Okay, I LOVE graphic novels about witches and somehow I hadn’t heard of this one about veterinarian witches!

I’ve heard amazing things about Amina’s Voice and am so excited to read Hena’s new book! I just received an ARC and can’t wait to start it.

Black Girl Unlimited by Echo Brown
Release date: January 14, 2020
A YA memoir blending autobiography and magical realism. This sounds incredible and I adore the cover.

Not So Pure and Simple by Lamar Giles
Release date: January 21, 2020
We definitely need more YA novels that deal with toxic masculinity, and I know I’ll definitely be purchasing this for my library.

Girls Save the World in This One by Ash Parsons
Release date: April 14, 2020
“Shaun of the Dead meets Clueless in this hilarious YA horror comedy set at a local zombie convention”?! This book sounds like it was written specifically for me.

Running by Natalie Sylvester
Release date: May 5, 2020
This cover was just revealed and OMG. I love the concept of this YA contemporary about a girl realizing her father isn’t who she thought when he begins running for president.
