I’ve picked up this YA novel about police brutality (set in Oakland!) a few times but never seem to get to it. I’m hoping to finally read it eventually!

A diverse YA novel with POC and queer characters about friendship and media.
Flying Lessons & Other Stories edited by Ellen Oh
A diverse middle grade anthology including works from Kwame Alexander, Meg Medina, Jacqueline Woodson, and more.
An Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Solomon
A coworker recommended this queer sci-fi novel to me, and it has great reviews!

A teen-prodigy doctor falling in love with a patient AND it’s written by one of the We Need Diverse Books team!
Fake It Till You Break It by Jenn P. Nguyen

Your lists are always soooo good and diverse! Anger is a Gift and Radio Silence are two that I keep meaning to get to, as well as An Unkindness of Ghosts. Fake It Till You Break It’s cover looks ADORABLE, so I’m totally adding it to my TBR.

Ahhh you’re so sweet to say that! I’ve picked up Anger is a Gift a couple times and just never seem to get into it. I really want to read it though (especially since I live in Oakland, where it takes place!) so I may try the audiobook version. And yes, I’m totally obsessed with that cover, too!!
